Tony Reed has spent decades moving between projects — Mos Generator, Pentagram, Funeral Suit, Hot Spring Water, Big Scenic Nowhere, and more — while running his own studio and producing other bands’ records along the way. With Mos Generator’s Listenable Records period recently remastered and reissued, and a new album in progress, we caught up with Reed to talk through the catalog, the influences underneath the stoner rock label, and how he keeps all of it moving at once.

Master have been around since 1983, and Paul Speckmann is the only one who never left the ship. He dragged the band through lineup changes, different countries, decades, and even a six-year silence that finally ended with "Saints Dispelled" in January 2024. At the same time, Hammerheart Records put all the old albums back in print, remastered and finally easy to find after years of being almost impossible to get. A new album and the whole back catalog back at once? That was the perfect excuse to ask some questions.

"Through Sun and Stone" is a debut that didn't just appear overnight. Five years, a friend's death, depression, and a lot of trial and error went into this. Amelia does almost everything herself: guitars, bass, mixing, the whole structure. Jørgen Kirby on vocals, Jobe Lewis on drums. The LP comes out on These Hands Melt, a new Rome label that actually cares about what they put out. We carry it because it deserves to be here, not out of hype or obligation.
