The arrangement leans into the band’s cinematic instincts without losing the core of what makes KAMELOT work when they’re at their best: tension, release, and a sense of drama that feels earned.

THOMAS YOUNGBLOOD, who has steered KAMELOT since the beginning, calls “Sanctuary” the turning point on the record — the place where the story finally steps out of RavenHill’s shadow. The song is about hope, but not the easy kind.

It’s about clawing your way back after everything falls apart, and the video follows that same arc: escape, scars, and the start of something new. The three vocalists — KAREVIK, DELAUNEY, FERNÁNDEZ — don’t just trade verses; they give the track the range it needs to make that shift believable.

KAMELOT launch the Dark Asylum World Tour this Friday in Orlando, starting with a North American run alongside VISIONS OF ATLANTIS and FROZEN CROWN. After that, they cross into Europe with EXIT EDEN and TEMPERANCE. It’s a lineup that makes sense if you’ve followed the band’s evolution — each support act brings a different angle on the symphonic and melodic metal spectrum, and the tour looks built to underline that.

KAMELOT started in Tampa back in 1987, with YOUNGBLOOD at the center from the first demo to now. Thirteen albums in, the band has shifted lineups and sounds, but the core has held. TOMMY KAREVIK has been on vocals since “Silverthorn” in 2012, stepping in after ROY KHAN left — a transition that could have broken a lesser band, but here it just marked the start of a new chapter.
