MIASMES formed in 2021, but the three members are not new faces in the French underground. G. handles bass and vocals, coming off time in RITUALIZATION and live stints with ANTAEUS and SETH. K.plays guitar, also from COMO MUERTOS, which is where he and G. first crossed paths. C. is on drums.
The band sings entirely in French and their identity is built on themes of decay, apostasy, and internal violence. Musically, they work inside old-school black metal frameworks but push them hard with punk and rock and roll energy. The result is not a hybrid for its own sake, but a sound that feels lived-in and honest to the scene they come from.
"Vermines" was the first MIASMES release, a five-track EP from 2021 tracked live in one session, no metronome, no edits. That decision was not about nostalgia for tape hiss, but about keeping the intensity honest.
The debut album, "Répugnance" (2023), kept that same directness and got attention for refusing to polish away the rough edges.
"Violence, Blasphème et Pourriture" goes even further. The band recorded it themselves to keep control over the sound, then sent it to BST STUDIO for mastering.
They describe this one as their most direct and aggressive yet, with the punk and crust elements pushed further forward.
Eleven tracks, closing with a cover of MOTÖRHEAD's "In the Name of Tragedy" — a choice that makes sense if you have been listening closely.
