The first death metal album, depending on who you ask — and the argument is compelling. Jeff Becerra's vocals are a revelation: a guttural, demonic growl that had simply never appeared on a record before. The riffs are fast, technical, and mercilessly heavy in a way that thrash of the time rarely was. 'Death Metal', 'Evil Warriors', 'The Exorcist' — the tracklist reads like a manifesto.
